ARREST OWUSU- BEMPAH FOR QUESTIONING, IGP
A PRESS RELEASE BY THE MEDIA ANALYSTS GROUP
Ghana’s political landscape may be described as interesting for many reasons.
From the phenomenally negative NPP to the diabolical friends of Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings (FONKAR), everything with opposition to professor Mill’s presidency sounds interesting, even illogical. But we must laud the calmness and maturity of the president. Many a leader would have been ruffled by the on-going madness in the country but the man whose hands Ghana’s destiny lies has remained passive – positive to the amazement of all, including the eagle –eyed international community.
Relative to Nana Konadu’s decision to contest the sitting president for the NDC’S 2012 flagbearship slot, we must say that a lot of illogicalities have been churned out particularly from the camp of Nana Konadu’s main tool, the FONKAR.
For example on Tuesday 14 June 2011, the groups main spokesman, Owusu Bempah, who has been widely acclaimed as a mole and pawn for Nana Konadu shocked the good people of Ghana, when declared that a certain British gave him (Owusu –Bempah) Gh¢ 40,000 to assist the then candidate Mill’s in 2008 electioneering . This was on Adakabre Frimpong Manso’s “Dwoso Nsem” on Adom fm. Unfortunately, this was a sorry attempt to once again denigrate the good professor. As sad as the revelation was, we entreat the hardworking IGP, Mr. Paul Tawiah Quaye to invite the gentleman for questioning since his revelation contravenes article 55 (15) which states that “only a citizen of Ghana may make a contribution or donation to a political party registered in Ghana”.
This, we are convinced will lead the country to know the following:
- The dealings of the said British
- The motive behind such a donation (if true)
- What Owusu Bempah used the amount for if it didn’t reach the party as confirmed and lastly
- To serve a deterrent other people of Owuso – Bempah’s kind in this government’s quest to ensure rule of l aw.
We are convinced such an allegation a well performing government such as the NDC is serious and must be investigated.
Long live Ghana,
Long live NDC.
